Verizon to offer choice of Apple TV 4K, YouTube TV subscription, upon launch of 5G network in initial U.S. markets

Verizon is ready to throw some cool things your way to get you on their 5G network.

The carrier, in an effort to get ahead with 5G, is looking to include YouTube TV or Apple TV as part of a launch promotion in its initial four markets.

Verizon will offer a YouTube TV subscription, or an Apple TV 4K in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Houston, and Indianapolis, the company’s initial launch cities.

The company stated that it plans to be the first wireless firm in the United States to roll out 5G into the residential broadband market later this year, mobile device manufacturers following suit in early 2019.

“We believe 5G will disrupt the entertainment industry further and are excited to provide our customers with the choice of the best network, the best content and the best partners,” Hans Vestberg, newly named CEO of Verizon, said in announcing the deals.

The company stated that the specifics of the YouTube TV subscription will be announced once the 5G residential broadband service goes live.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
