TSMC, UMC, state chip output not affected by coronavirus outbreak

Apple iPhone chip provider has insisted that the coronavirus outbreak won’t affect manufacturing at its earnings call last week.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics (UMC) have both said that production at their fabs in China stays on track and has not been affected by the coronavirus outbreak… 

It’s thought that the lockdown of Wuhan due to the coronavirus could impact global shipments given that the city is of of the major production bases for a number of China-based panel makers.
