Apple Watch sells estimated 2.79 million units, Apple profiting handsomely from watch band sales

You may think the Apple Watch is silly, but it’s selling. And a fair number of its buyers are snagging a second watch band. Research firm Slice Intelligence, which analyzed mail receipts from two million people, extrapolated that an estimated 2.79 million Apple Watch units have been sold since the device launched in April.
