If your competitor does it, it’s usually a good idea to do something similar.
Wireless carrier Sprint has announced that it will follow T-Mobile’s lead and offer customers who get an iPhone 6 now a free upgrade to the iPhone 6s upon its release. The deal, dubbed “iPhone Forever”, lets subscribers lease a new iPhone and upgrade whenever an updated model is released.
The plan will retail for US$22 a month for the 16GB model.
The company’s PR line is as follows:
“Anytime customers don’t have the latest iPhone, they are eligible to upgrade. They bring their iPhone, upgrade on the spot and away they go. It’s that simple. iPhone Forever is available on any eligible Sprint rate plan and upgrade eligibility is always included in your price.”
The deal is similar to T-Mobile’s JUMP! On Demand offer, wherein customers can snag the current model iPhone and upgrade to the new model once it hits the shelves. JUMP! On Demand goes for US$15 a month.
If you’ve tried these plans in the past, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
