If you ordered Apple’s AirPods 2 headphones on the same day they were announced last week, it looks like you might get them today.
The headphones, which were apparently shipped the same day they were ordered, had apparently been promised delivery between March 26th and March 28th. In a recent spate of user updates, some buyers have said that the units are expected to arrive on the 26th.
The second-generation AirPods feature a new H1 chip which lowers latency, improves connection speed, longer battery life when on phone calls, and enables ‘Hey Siri’. Users will no longer need to double-tap the earbud to make a Siri request, just say ‘Hey Siri’ into the air with your new AirPods in your ears.
The AirPods 2 arrive with a normal AirPods Case, or a new Wireless Charging Case, which is available for an additional $40 and are compatible with Qi-compatible wireless charging mats. Existing AirPods owners can buy the charging case standalone for $79, if they don’t want to buy a whole new set of earbuds too.
Apple’s tech specs say that the new AirPods require iOS 12.2, macOS 10.14.4 or watchOS 5.2.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
