Some 2013-2014 MacBooks no longer eligible for free anti-reflective coating display repair

Your time may have run out out if you need to get your 2013 or 2014 MacBook with an anti-reflective coating on the display repaired for free.

These notebooks, which were eligible for free repairs up to four years after the purchase date, have reached their end date for the offer to be valid.

An internal memo tells Apple Authorized Service Providers that MacBook Pros released in 2014 and earlier aren’t eligible for free repair anymore. Here’s the list of eligible models:

  • 2015: MacBook Pro 13-inch, MacBook Pro 15-inch, MacBook 12-inch
  • 2016: MacBook Pro 13-inch, MacBook Pro 15-inch, MacBook 12-inch
  • 2017: MacBook Pro 13-inch, MacBook Pro 15-inch, MacBook 12-inch

As of now, no 2018 MacBooks are eligible for the free repair. Owners of qualifying 2013 or 2014 MacBooks with the screen issue now have to sign up for and pay for the repairs, as linked below.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
