A series of leaked images of the next-gen iPhone SE may have provided additional details as to its updated design and color options.
The handset, which is said to be modeled off the iPhone 14, is now rumored to be receiving a significant makeover, including Apple ditching the familiar Home button in favor of an edge-to-edge display with a notch. Sonny Dickson, known for reliably sharing dummy models of upcoming iPhones, unveiled images on Thursday that give us an early glimpse of the iPhone SE 4. These images offer a few notable details about the new device, including its expected color options of black and white.
Additional reports have indicated that the device will feature a larger 6.1-inch OLED screen as opposed to the current 4.7-inch LCD. The device is also rumored to feature the A18 chip, which is also found in Apple’s flagship iPhone 16 model. The updated iPhone could be the debut device for Apple’s in-house 5G modem, and boost battery efficiency while improving connectivity. In addition, it’s thought that the iPhone SE 4 could feature a 48MP rear camera, marking a hefty upgrade from the 12MP sensor found in the current iPhone SE, and could offer sharper images, better low-light performance, and improved digital zoom capabilities.
Other expected new features include a switch to a USB-C port, replacing the Lightning connector, a change that meets EU regulations and simplifies charging and data transfer for users who already own USB-C accessories. Finally, the device is rumored to offer MagSafe compatibility, which would all users to snap on chargers and accessories as needed. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to retail at a starting price of $499, and is thought to be en route for March or April.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
