Straight from the depths of Rumorville, Chinese site Chongdiantou has photos of what it claims is an engineering sample of Apple’s new 18W USB-C power adapter.
The site claims the pictures emerged from somewhere within Apple’s supply chain and that the USB-C power adapter will ship with the 2018 model iPhones.
The prototype seems to match previous CAD drawings that have leaked as well as Apple’s design style. While the images could be faked, a USB-C power adapter would deliver far more energy than the 5-watt USB-A power adapters that have been in use up until now, allowing the iPhone to charge that much faster.
