Per recent rumors, the next-generation iPhone SE could feature a design based around the iPhone XR.
The rumor comes from known leaker Jon Prosser, who has cited new information from his sources.
Within the latest episode of the Geared Up podcast featuring Andru Edwards and Jon Rettinger, Prosser claims that, “The SE 4, from what I understand – and I don’t think I’ve said this publicly – is just the iPhone XR”.
The current, third-generation iPhone SE saw a release earlier this year, and is based on the iPhone 8 as well as the previous iPhone SE. The current iPhone SE features thick top and bottom display bezels, which differs from Apple’s other iPhones. It also features a Home button, which is sometimes seen as a missed feature on the flagship series of iPhones.
Apple no longer lists the iPhone XR within its stores. The XR features a 6.1-inch LCD display, as opposed to the current iPhone SE’s 4.7-inch display. A conversion to an iPhone XR set of features may portend a larger display for the next-generation iPhone SE.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
