If you’re hankering for the next-gen iPhone SE, it may arrive in March 2025.
Per predictions from analysts at Barclays Bank, as well as word from the supply chain, the forthcoming handset is “confirmed” for the March time frame.
There does not, though, appear to be any specific basis for the claim other than that others have previously reported the same date.
Barclays also included the prediction that the iPhone SE 4 will launch with an Apple-made 5G modem. The current iPhone SE, and all iPhone models, use a Qualcomm 5G modem and Apple has been working to replace that with its own design.
It’s thought that Apple will try out its own 5G modem in the iPhone SE 4 because it may not yet support the faster mmWave version of 5G. This is needed for at least the Pro models of the iPhone, although at present only US iPhones support it.
Upon launching, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be the first iPhone SE model to replace Touch ID with Face ID. The unit is also believed to be based on the iPhone 14 design.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
