Rumor: Apple won’t announce updated iPad models on March 26th

You may have to wait a little bit longer for Apple’s updated iPad.

Per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who announced that there would be an iPad announcement in late March, this doesn’t appear to be the case. Other sources chimed in, offering a date of March 26, 2024 for the new tablets to be announced.

Responding on Twitter/X to one such report, however, Gurman stated only “Not true.” He did not elaborate but also made no comment retracting or altering his previous prediction of an announcement in the coming weeks.

Apple has yet to send around press invitations to the event, which it typically does a week beforehand. In the case of the recently released M3 MacBook Air, the announcement arrived via a press release.

The iPad announcement is expected to include new models of the iPad Pro and the iPad Air, possibly introducing a 12.9-inch model of the latter. It’s also expected that the iPad Pro will gain an OLED screen and that there may be a redesign for the Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
