The rumor mill now has it that a refreshed iPad mini with an updated design is reportedly set to arrive in the fall of 2021, and the 24-inch iMac may be joined by a larger model that is also powered by Apple Silicon.
The updated iPad mini is thought to arrive with several significant changes, including thinner bezels and the removal of the Home button.
Per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the updated iPad mini “should be a go” for launch this fall, and could receive the “biggest redesign in the nine-year history” of the device, Gurman’s sources claiming it will be similar to the alterations made to the iPad Air.
According to leaked schematics, the updated iPad mini will have the same footprint as the current model, with only a 3mm difference between the two. The Lightning port is thought to have been switched for USB-C, the speakers are said to be improved, and Touch ID will remain in the form of a power button sensor.
Gurman also pointed to a second Apple Silicon iMac, with Apple thought to be working on a 27-inch iMac with either an M1X or M2 processor.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
