Apple apparently completed the acquisition of self-driving car startup on Tuesday. The specific value of the deal has yet to be confirmed as of this writing.
News of the acquisition surface last month, with the motivation for the deal being Apple’s looking to bring in engineers and talent from Drive.ai.
This also comes at a time in which Apple is looking to boost its position in the self-driving vehicle market. Drive.ai has struggled as of late, the company information regulators in California of plans to lay off 90% of staff as part of its permanent closure. It ran a number of small-scale partnerships in Texas from October 2018.
