Apple is rumored to be working on bringing full Apple Pencil support for websites as well as a built-in translator to Safari in iOS 14.
The features were located via an internal iOS 14 build that was thought to have been leaked within Apple’s supply chain.
According to code within the internal build, Safari may have the ability to translate full webpages without any third-party tools. Currently, Siri on iOS can translate words and phrases into other languages, but lacks the ability to do the same with full webpages.
The feature could allow users to toggle translations for individual websites, and an automatic translation tool that can detect different languages is also a possibility. The code also suggests that users will be able to switch between translated and original text without reloading the website.
The translation feature is also rumored to be in testing for additional Apple services, such as the App Store. It’s also thought that a systemwide version could be on the table.
iOS 14 is also rumored to be introducing full Apple Pencil input support for websites. The feature would allow users to scroll, touch, draw and markup sites in Safari and other web browsers.
A report on Monday suggested that iOS 14 would support all devices that are currently compatible with iOS 13.
iOS 14 is likely to debut at Apple’s WWDC 2020 virtual conference, which is slated to take place on June 22nd.
