The next-gen iPad could be even larger, bordering on a MacBook Pro’s display size.
The rumor mill currently has it that Apple is readying an iPad with a 16-inch display according to The Information. Sources familiar with the situation told the outlet Apple could release the device in the fourth quarter of 2023, although this is subject to change.
While rumors of an iPad with a 14-inch to 15-inch screen have been prevalent for some time now, a new rumor has surfaced of one with a 16-inch screen.
Introducing a premium 16-inch iPad could help add some sense to Apple’s lineup
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is currently Apple’s biggest model, but tacking on a few extra inches of screen real estate could make the device ideal for creative professionals. It would also make sense for those who want to take advantage of Stage Manager, an iPadOS 16 feature that’s supposed to make switching between apps easier.
Apple recently shook up its iPad lineup in September, complete with an entry-level iPad with a USB-C connector as well as an updated 12.9-inch iPad Pad.
A 16-inch iPad could open a new segment for Apple’s iPad marketing plan, but we’ll have to see how things play out.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
