Rumor: Apple begins pulling in 2021 iPhone components, preps to start mass production of units

With only a few months away from Apple’s expected reveal date for the 2021, dubbed the “iPhone 13,” Apple has reportedly begun pulling in shipments of different components needed to produce the new units.

Per DigiTimes, Apple has begun pulling in components from dozens of suppliers located in China, the United States, Vietnam, and India. Lockdowns crippled many of Apple’s supplier’s ability to produce and assemble devices during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. TSMC, one of Apple’s largest suppliers, has reportedly already started producing the A15 chip for the 2021 iPhone.

Where the iPhone 12 offered new changes such as an updated flat-edged design, the introduction of LiDAR for the high-end Pro models, the inclusion of 5G, and improved cameras, the 2021 model is expected to add an all-new always-on display with 120Hz ProMotion technology, improved cameras, and more.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
