Rumor: 120Hz ProMotion feature, display improvements, could be found on all iPhone 17 models

Come fall of 2025, all of Apple’s new iPhone models could feature 120HZ ProMotion, which is currently only found on the Pro models.

According to a Weibo post from “Ice Universe” on Weibo, the feature could arrive on all models of the iPhone 17 handset. The leaker has released a series of specifications and prices for the iPhone 17 range. The leak backs up the use of LTPO screens, except for one model marked as being the iPhone SE 4, which will have the older LTPS displays.

The leak also indicates that the iPhone 17 will feature a 6.27-inch LTPO screen, seemingly the same as the iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to have a 6.68-inch LTPO display.

The leak also offers the following price points for the forthcoming units:

  • iPhone 17 $799
  • iPhone 17 Pro $1,099
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max $1,199

“Ice Universe” has also suggested that there will be a further model that could be even slimmer. That model is said to have a 6.65-inch LTPO display and cost from $1,299. This may be the “Ultra” model that has been rumored for several generations.

Finally, the leak also suggested that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max units will feature 12GB of RAM and a triple 48MP camera system. They will reportedly feature a 3nm A19 Pro chip, while the regular models will have an A19 chip.

Another advantage of the regular iPhones getting a ProMotion screen is that it should mean they get an always-on display.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
