Resident Evil 2 arrives for the Mac, iPhone, and iPad

A classic game is a classic game, and if it winds up on your oPhone or iPad at 75 percent off its usual price, that’s never a bad thing.

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 has arrived for the iPhone and iPad, complete with a limited part of the game being playable, after which players must purchase the full game to continue. Until January 8, the base game can be purchased for $9.99, while all in-game rewards can be unlocked for $1.99. After that date, the game will retail for $39.99.

The game requires an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 series iPhone to run, along with an iPad or Mac equipped with an M1, M2, M3, or M4 series chip. The game supports cross-progression across supported Apple devices, so players can continue their progress whether playing on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. It’s also a universal purchase, meaning a single purchase grants access across all compatible Apple devices.

Capcom has stated that the game weighs in around 31GB, and that the installation process requires that the target drive have at least 62GB of storage space available to complete with installation. An internet connection is also required to start the game. Resident Evil 2 can be downloaded from the App Store.
