A little more research revealed that hundreds of people have similar issues. Although it is not a big deal and is only cosmetic, some people have a problem with any marring of their new PowerBooks. Readers have reported similar occurrence with the trackpad button’s edges on the PowerBook 12-inch.
The problem is due to the fact that Apple put no display cushions whatsoever on the PB17 and only two teeny ones on the PB12. A great solution is (PowerPage sponsor) RadTech’s Wildeepz display cushions (US$12-16). I just received the new version for the PB17 and love them.
