From the VW’s drive magazine:

Setup is a breeze: “Music manager” software is included for your PC, which easily converts your cd collection into MP3 or WMA files and allows you to organize the tunes any way you like. The playlists and songs are then downloaded to the PhatBox. Controls are the icing on the cake-the PhatBox actually speaks the artists, album, genre and playlist info through your speakers, and you use your existing stereo to navigate.
Requirement: PC win 98 2nd edition; MAC OS9 + with virtual PC and win 98 2nd ed.

I guess the rumors of the iPod dock from VW are not true.
The PhatBox also manufactures the Kenwood Music Keg in-car, hard drive based digital music player. Too bad the software isn’t Mac compatible.
