The PowerPage/NoBeige outing to see Episode I: The Phantom Menace was a huge success. We even caught a glimpse of the mysterious Obi-Wan Kenobi. For more Star Wars fun (and some goofy pictures of us), click here. We don’t want to spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it yet, but here are our first impressions:
Brian:
I must comment that Lucas has done well in giving us a glimpse into what could be our future. It is a pristine and a macro-technical civilization he has painted for us. But one thing seems odd… why does it seem that every other sabre battle turns into an OSHA hazard where someone stumbles over a ledge or falls down an infinite ravine. If we are to believe this could be the future… it would seem a little more logical that civilized architecture would prevent much of these unecessary mishaps.
Antoinette:
The Phantom Menace costume was great, but the phantom could of been more active, meaner and stuck around a little longer. In business news, indeed star wars are being targeted for a hostile takeover, there now seems to be some truth to the rumors about Star Wars, they are here to stay! Signing out, star wars fan!
Ed:
It was quite an advance over previous Star Wars movies. I don’t think hardly a scene went by without a computer rendered image.
Alyson:
The Jedi fight scenes are amazing and the pod race definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. However, who else thinks Samuel L. Jackson is out of place in the movie?
Amy:
The only criticism I have is the fact that Yoda sounds exactly like Grover from Sesame Street!
