A source in New York has confirmed that Apple is in late stage discussions for an Apple retail store in the Palisades Center shopping mall in West Nyack, NY.
Palisades Center is the nation’s second or third largest mall with 2.2 million square feet and more coming soon. Sony Theater’s number two grossing location is in Palisades and it is located 30 minutes north of New York City.
According to the source, a prime location in the mall was reserved by Apple eight months ago. Mall management recently indicated the location is in final negotiation by Apple and that construction may begin in the next couple months.
The approximately 4,000 square foot location is on the fourth floor in the busy restaurant section. An incredible 20,000 to 40,000 people a day pass through that particular section which is directly across from the Outback Steakhouse and next to Target. CompUSA and Circuit City (who sell Macs) are located on the second floor.
