On Tuesday, Microsoft released a software update to its Windows Vista operating system designed around fixing a problem between its newly released operating system and Apple’s iPod. The bug, which has appeared for some users, places the iPod at risk of corruption should the user choose to eject the iPod using Vista’s Safely Remove Hardware option.
To date, Apple has warned Vista users to eject iPods from within iTunes according to iLounge. Recent updates to iTunes have focused on making the iPod behave better within Vista.
The update can be found using the update.microsoft.com web site and may prove useful if you’re currently running Windows Vista under Apple’s Boot Camp or under a virtualized environment such as Parallels, CrossOver or VMWare.
