According to an MSNBC story (“Melissa variant targets Macintosh“), Melissa, the infamous Word macro virus, is back and this time Mac users are not immune.
A new strain of the Melissa virus specifically targeting Macintosh users started making the rounds within the past 48 hours. So far, dozens of corporate users ? most in Europe ? have been hit, but a massive outbreak is not expected. The new virus is tricky because it attacks Microsoft Word 2001 for Macintosh files, a new file format many antivirus products can?t quite handle yet.
