Go2Mac reader Brett C writes to tell us that iTunes will burn to the MCE Xcarét expansion bay CD burner:
PowerPage readers may be interested to know that iTunes will work with a Powerbook G3/Firewire. From the early reports from Macworld SF, it sounded like you would need to have a new G4 with Apple CD-RW drive to burn a CD with iTunes. Not true!!
I downloaded iTunes last night, and used it to successfully burn an audio CD using an MCE Xcaret Pro 2000 internal expansion bay CD-RW drive on my Powerbook G3 (Firewire). it works great! didn’t have to install any special drivers for iTunes to recognize the drive. – simply installed iTunes itself and started to use it right away.
it’s 1-click easy, just like Apple says! Easy and fun, just as it should be!
