MACOSX.COM, the online community and Mac services site introduces a new .Mac type service which allows Mac users to upload photos via iPhoto to a personal gallery, store file backups via online storage and post standard web documents for public display, including both HTML and PHP pages.
The service was introduced as an addition to it’s current line of email only account services. Scott William, MACOSX.COM Founder, “We wanted our service users to get more for their dollar. We had seen that people enjoyed the .Mac services for the ease of iPhoto uploading and
integration. Our use of 3rd party applications has allowed us to mirror a similar feature set, allowing easy uploading of photos and album creation, all in the iPhoto application.”
The new offering includes three separate bundled packages. 100MB of web space, 100MB of email space for $9.95/year, 500MB of web space, 1GB of email space for $29.95/year, and 1GB of web space, unlimited email space for $49.95/year.
Email services feature, POP, IMAP, SMTP, Webmail, SpamAssassin, Virus Scanning, Secure Protocols, Alternative SMTP ports (for ISPs that block port 25), Secure protocol connections, unlimited email alias creations, auto-responders and more.
Web services feature FTP access, PHP, you.macosx.com domain name, private folders, and Gallery software.
