Following a fair amount of kerfuffle as to the Group FaceTime audio bug, Apple has vowed to fix it quickly within its macOS 10.14.4 update.
Unfortunately, the company has also stated that the update has been pushed back to this week.
Apple issued the following apology to both its users as well as the Thompson family, which helped report the issue:
We have fixed the Group FaceTime security bug on Apple’s servers and we will issue a software update to re-enable the feature for users next week. We thank the Thompson family for reporting the bug. We sincerely apologize to our customers who were affected and all who were concerned about this security issue. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we complete this process.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
