A leak of the packaging for Apple’s 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro may have leaked, indicating a release at an October media event.
After both the Mac and the iPad lines failed to appear during Apple’s “Glowtime” event centering around the iPhone 16 handsets, a post on X this past Sunday
The post, published by serial leaker “VNChocoTaco,” displays an image of what could be a sticker for the back of a MacBook Pro box. The sticker itself seems to be a label for a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 chip, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of storage. This may not necessarily be for a base model MacBook Pro, as the M3 version had 8GB, 16GB, and 24GB memory capacities.
Other specifications listed on the sticker include three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, and MagSafe 3.
Although the image seems to be laid out correctly and resides above an Apple security strip, there’s no guarantee that it’s actually genuine. The leak poster also admits “Not confirmed, take it with a pin (sic) of salt. I got sent this.” There is a market for faked Apple product security strips, for fraudsters to empty out a box, and replace it with a similar weight, and a faked security strip.
A typo also appears, with an indistinct section of text seeming to claim that the box contains a “16-inch MacBook Pro.”
It’s unknown if the leaked sticker is genuine or fake, albeit the leaker does have a decent history of reliability so far.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
