Anyway, there’s a whole discussion of the Treo 700w over at Engadget and the comments are pretty interesting. Several people want to buy it ASAP while others complain that the reason they bought a Treo in the first place was for the Palm OS (something about viruses in the pocket.)

My experience with WinMo as a phone was miserable. I purchased an HP h6315 around this time in 2004 because it was the first tri-radio phone on the market (WiFi, Bluetooth and GSM/GPRS). While it sounded good on paper, the 6315’s processor was too slow to run Skype, it crashed a few times a day and if the battery ran out it completely wiped out all the memory – not good for a phone.
Anyway, let’s hope that Palm still plans to launch a Treo 700p for us Mac users.

– EV-DO for Verizon and Sprint customers
– Bluetooth
– 64MB Memory
– 1.0 megapixel camera
Cons:
– WiFi only via protruding SD card
– Big antenna
– Thick form factor
– No walkie talkie (PTT)
Questions:
– Size of the display, some claim 240*240, some 320*320 (240 would turn this into a con)
– Voice dialing (missing in the 650)
