You’ll be able to snag an Apple Watch in a Kohl’s this holiday season.
The retail chain will be carrying the device on store shelves before Black Friday. Kohl’s is joining Macy’s in selling the Apple Watch at select locations starting this month with one key difference: Kohl’s is positioning the watch as a wellness product, not an electronic one.
Where Apple’s deal with Macy’s will place the Apple Watch in 180 department store locations selling a variety of Apple devices, Kohl’s isn’t looking to get into the consumer electronics business. Instead, the chain will be grouping the Apple Watch in with its fitness gear, much like its Fitbit selection.
Still, the Apple Watch will have its own dedicated display with 10 different models available for sale in 400 of 1,100 Kohl’s stores on Nov. 15.
The move offers credibility to both Apple and Kohl’s alike. And while specific data has yet to be released, IDC reported that Apple Watch sales declined by 70 percent in the third quarter of this year prior to the release of the Apple Watch Series 2, which may help boost sales.
