iMacs in France Go Postal

Christophe from MacSR News reports that La Poste, the main postal service in France, is using iMacs to serve the public good:

La Poste, which is the main postal service in France, will put an iMac in 1000 [post offices]. To use an iMac, you have to pay for a card which cost 50 FF (about US$8) and get an email adress and 1 hour of Internet service. You can recharge your card (30 FF/US$5 for 1 hour). The web browser is Netscape Communicator. According to Apple France, 300 agencies already have installed an iMac.

Very cool. (Sorry, no “postal” jokes today…)
