If you’re looking to transcend the mindless 3D shooter, Red Storm Entertainment’s Rainbow Six happens to be the coolest kid on the block. Not because this kid has a swimming pool in his backyard and Dreamcast connected to a huge Sony television set, but it’s because this kid is actually fun to be around. Take that analogy and somehow apply it to Rainbow Six. Rainbow Six, now at beta-test stage at MacSoft, doesn’t have the slickest 3D engine or whizbang 3D effects that can hurl limbs large distances, but the content of the game, rather than the technology, drives the “oohs and aahhs” in the game.
