Apple has received faster G3 chips, part of IBM’s PowerPC 750fx family, Think Secret is reporting. Next in the line is an even faster chip code-named “GOBI,” and GOBI’s successor in 2004.
While each iBook update brings speculation that the consumer portable could ship with a G4 chip, the arrival of new G3s at Apple, and a strong roadmap for the future, further clouds this possibility.
