The impressively geeky Dr. Ray Soneira and the guys at DisplayMate shall be taking an in-depth look at Apple’s new Night Shift feature which surfaced in iOS 9.3 and has become popular through apps like F.lux.

I am not a sleep researcher, but I am a theoretical physicist with extensive knowledge of the displays, light spectra, and human color vision. It is clear that many sleep researchers do not have a very good understanding of displays, light spectra, or human color vision, so many of their conclusions regarding displays are simply not correct.
He also offered the following:
I have not yet measured the new iPad Pro 9.7, but I did update my iPad Pro 12.9 article, which explains this vision effect in greater detail from the point of view of displays, light spectra, and human color vision.
Take a gander at the iPad Pro 12.9 article and there’s some interesting stuff coming down the pipe.
