A number of iPhone models were just made that much cheaper to buy in China.
A number of online retailers in China have discounted the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max in China this week. The discounts go as high as 1,700 yuan (US$253) off their official price.
Suning.com took 1,000 yuan ($149) of the price of the iPhone XS, while Pinduoduo started selling a 64GB version of the device for 6999 yuan ($1,043). That is over 1,000 yuan off its official price. Elsewhere, JD.com offered discounts on the iPhone XS and XS Max, as well as other Apple products. It sold the latter device with a 1,700 yuan discount.
This marks the second time Chinese retailers have discounted the handsets. Suning.comand JD did not include the iPhone XS during the first round of price cuts back in January. The discounts followed an ongoing slowdown of iPhone sales in China, the world’s largest smartphone market.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
