Apple is apparently looking to launch its Apple News subscription service in 2019 and is working to bring on a number of publishers, some of which might be hesitant about the overall product.
The company acquired Texture, a new company, earlier this year. The Texture app was designed to give users unlimited access to about 200 magazines. Apple wants to boost its own news app, as well as its growing Services business.
While Apple’s Eddy Cue and his team are working to woo the media to provide content for the service, media executives are worried that subscribers would abandon their subscriptions and only pay for the Apple service.
As such, the media representatives seem hesitant, as it’d be a difficult feat to ask their customers for the same content twice.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
