Apple unveils WWDC 2025 dates

Apple has announced that its next Worldwide Developer Conference will begin with a keynote video on June 9, 2025, and run through June 13. During this video, the company will update its operating systems, debut a new Mac Pro, and some Apple Intelligence improvements. WWDC is a week-long event for developers, but its first morning has become an opportunity for Apple to make major announcements for users as well.

The keynote will be a free-to-view event online, with both the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union aired on the first day. Further sessions will be available on the Apple Developer app, Apple Developer website, and Apple Developer YouTube channel throughout the week. Apple will also hold an in-person experience on June 9 at Apple Park, wherein selected developers will be able to watch both the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union. Attendees will also get to meet one-on-one with Apple experts and in group labs and also take part in special activities.

For students, winners of the Swift Student Challenge will be notified of their status on March 27 and will be eligible to apply for the special event at Apple Park. Also, 50 Distinguished Winners will be invited to Apple Park for a three-day experience.

It’s thought that Siri and Apple Intelligence could be the stars of this year’s WWDC, and recent rumors have indicated that Siri will receive improvements before WWDC, but also that the it will get better still over iOS 19 and perhaps 2026’s iOS 20. Apple Intelligence updates should also bring context-aware responses. So users will be able to ask Siri about whatever is on their screen. Other significant changes could include improved ChatGPT integration, and a Siri chatbot could be in the works for iOS 19.

As usual, Apple is expected to announce major updates to its iOS, iPadOS, and macOS operating systems, and public betas usually follow within a few weeks prior to a final release in September or October.

It’s thought that Apple may be bringing various design cues from the Apple Vision Pro to the iPhone, complete with some settings only being revealed as the user swipes towards them. Various Apple Intelligence updates that surface for the macOS will eventually head to the iPhone and iPad,

Apple will certainly announce at least some new features for the Apple Watch. Those will ship alongside watchOS 12, which will be released alongside new Apple Watch models later in 2025. Then there’s tvOS, which obviously drives the Apple TV 4K, but less obviously is also what the HomePod runs on. Of all the Apple operating systems, tvOS tends to get the least attention at WWDC, but that could change this year.

Finally, rumors have surfaced as to Apple releasing a next-gen AirTag, which could debut at WWDC 2025. It’s unknown as to what new features and changes might be seen with the new version, but it’ll be interesting to see what lands.

Stay tuned to the PowerPage for full coverage of WWDC in June and please let us know what you’d like to see en route for the conference in the comments.
