Apple on Monday announced that the company has been working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and announced that Health Records are coming for veterans.
Using Health Records, American veterans with an iPhone will see their medical information from participating institutions—including the VA—organized in the Health app.
“We have great admiration for veterans, and we’re proud to bring a solution like Health Records on iPhone to the veteran community. It’s truly an honor to contribute to the improved healthcare of America’s heroes,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Records data, which include allergies, conditions, immunizations, lab results, medications, procedures and vitals, and is displayed along with other information in the Health app like Apple Watch data. The records are also encrypted and protected via applicable technologies such as the iPhone passcode, and Touch ID/Face ID.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
