A series of new beta firmware versions for the Beats Studio Buds and Apple AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max show some potential new changes en route for the wireless earbuds.
Beta version 10M4372 has been released for Beats Studio Buds, while beta version 6A5262d is the newest firmware for the AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max units. Version 5E135, released in May, is the current shipping version.
While specific changes and fixes are not immediately available, it’s thought that the new firmware version likely includes updates to upcoming features like Conversation Awareness.
The process of updating the firmware in Apple headphones is also not exactly obvious, but can generally be initiated by charging your headphones while they’re near your iPhone, which can also help invoke the firmware update process.
If you’ve tried the new beta firmware versions, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
