Apple releases macOS Sonoma 14.1 update

Today was Apple’s most recent software update-o-rama, with the company releasing long-awaited updates to its macOS Sonoma operating system.

Per AppleInsider, the macOS Sonoma 14.1 update arrives less than a month after the new operating system’s September 26 debut and includes the following fixes and changes:

  • Favorites expanded in Music to include songs, albums, and playlists, and you can filter to display your favorites in the library
  • Apple warranty status for Mac, AirPods, and Beats headphones and earbuds is available in System Settings
  • Fixes an issue where the System Services settings within Location Services may reset
  • Fixes an issue that may prevent encrypted external drives from mounting

The update is compatible with the following Macs:

  • iMac 2019 and later
  • iMac Pro
  • MacBook Air 2018 and later
  • MacBook Pro 2018 and later
  • Mac Pro 2019 and later
  • Mac Studio
  • Mac mini 2018 and later

Apple also rolled out macOS Monterey 12.7.1, and macOS Ventura 13.6.1.

As usual, users who want to manually update their Mac instead of waiting for an automatic update can do so by clicking the Apple icon in the main menu, selecting System Settings, clicking on General, then Software Update, and lastly the update itself.
