Apple releases macOS 11.3.1 Big Sur update, fixes two security vulnerabilities found in the wild

Following up on last week’s release of macOS 11.3 Big Sur, Apple on Monday released macOS 11.3.1 Big Sur, an update which contains security fixes for two vulnerabilities that the company says may have been exploited in the wild.

Per Apple’s security content webpage, macOS 11.3.1 Big Sur fixes a pair of vulnerabilities in WebKit that could allow maliciously crafted web content to lead to arbitrary code execution. The first vulnerability was caused by a memory corruption issue, while the second was rooted in an integer overflow.

Apple said it is aware of reports that both vulnerabilities have been actively exploited in the wild.

If you’ve tried the update and have any feedback to offer, please let us know about your experience in the comments.
