Apple releases firmware version 2D27 for the AirPods Pro

Apple on Tuesday released version 2D27 of its firmware for its AirPods Pro earbuds.

While no specific fix details have been released, there have been ongoing complaints from AirPods Pro owners regarding Activate Noise Cancellation and crackling or popping sounds.

Apple has also announced that it will be adding a new spatial audio feature for the AirPods Pro in iOS 14, so this update could help prep for that option. Spatial audio provides surround sound by using advanced motion tracking and device location.

Although there’s no defined way to upgrade the firmware, users can place the AirPods Pro in the case, connect the unit to a power source, and then pair the AirPods Pro to an iPhone or an iPad should force the update after a short period of time.
