The Apple expansion continues.

In recent weeks, it’s been discovered that Apple has leased another major project in Sunnyvale — a two-building, 215,000-square foot office park that’s wrapping up construction at North Mathilda Ave. and W. Maude Ave. The project, from Christensen Holdings, is in a business district that’s already thick with Apple outposts.

This is not a completely new change, as the Mathilda Tech Center in Sunnyvale is located in a thick of office buildings already occupied by Apple.

It’s expected that Apple will continue to lease buildings in this segment of Sunnyvale, known as “Peery Park”.

Also, Apple is likely to leaseyet another north San Jose project in the near term: Steelwave’s 200,000-square-foot office building at 2503 Orchard Parkway, which is well under construction.

The Apple deals are major milestones in a remarkable real estate expansion story that has pushed the Mac maker well past its Cupertino stronghold. The growth been going on for the last several years, but really accelerated since the spring of this year— an appetite that includes office, industrial and research-and-development space.

Indeed, the transactions are getting a little hard to keep track of, with large leases and sales in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Fremont and north San Jose.

Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
