This is why exchanges are a good thing.
On Thursday, Apple announced that the three-prong adapter in its World Travel Adapter Kit designed for devices in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the U.K., “may break.” As such, Apple has recalled the part.
To identify the recalled plug, Apple says that it is, “white, with no letters in the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter.” If you have a three-prong plug that is “white with gray on the inside portion that attaches to the power adapter,” you have the newer plug and you’re set.
Customers can exchange the plug via their local authorized Apple Service Provider, or make a service appointment through their local Apple Store location. You’ll be able to exchange the old plug for the new one, absolutely free of charge.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
