In what could definitely be considered a significant step in its transition form Intel to ARM processors, Apple has hired one of ARM Holding’s Inc.’s top chip engineers.
This, in turn, could allow for Apple to create its own new hardware, including devices, new Macs, and a possible headset.
Apple has hired Mike Filippo as of May for a chip architect position, according to Filippo’s LinkedIn profile.
The next challenge, of course, could be for Apple to shed its reliance on Intel’s CPUs while maintaining compatibility with this hardware.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
