Apple has recently expanded its list of suppliers, adding SG Micro. Per noted Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, the company’s components have passed Apple’s quality certification and might supply essential components for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14.
Kuo recently tweeted that SG Micro components will be used for some high-end iPhone 14 models upon their release. It’s thought that the company could supply components for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
SG Micro specializes in integrated circuitry, and could provide the power management integrated circuitry of the high-end iPhone 14 models. Kuo mentioned that this will be the first time that SG Micro has supplied components for higher-end products to Apple.
Via the inclusion of SG Micro, Apple would have a steady supply of components for the high-end iPhone 14 models. This could also offer a safety net given more shortages of components in the future. Kuo has predicted that Apple’s supply chain will continue to grow.
The iPhone 14 models are expected to be released in September.
