You may not always love what Apple does, but with any luck this could be really helpful.
Apple on Tuesday announced that it is expanding its partnership with (RED) to offer treatment and services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Until June 30 2021, 100 percent of eligible proceeds from (PRODUCT)Red purchases will help fund the Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response. The expansion now covers additional iPhones and a PRODUCT(RED) Apple Watch.
The company also announced that through December 7, Apple will donate $1 to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response for every purchase made with Apple Pay via its web-based and retail presences. Apple had that these proceeds would go towards COVID-19 relief through September 30, 2020.
Finally, on World AIDS Day, Apple revealed that it had raised almost $250 million during its 14-year partnership with (RED). Apple noted that this has helped provide over 10.8 million with care and support services, 167 million HIV tests, and antiretroviral treatment for more than 13.8 million people.
Stay tuned for additional details as they become available.
