Apple on Monday announced its TV subscription service, Apple TV+, at its “Showtime” media event at the Steve Jobs Theater. The long-rumored service will host Apple’s original television shows and films, and be located within the revamped Apple TV app.
Apple stated the that the Apple TV+ service will be the home for “the world’s most creative storytellers,” and feature original content such as TV shows, movies, and documentaries. Original content partners presently include Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, J.J. Abrams, Jason Momoa, and more.
The company stated that the service will launch this fall. Final pricing for the subscription service will be announced at that time.
