Five years after Adobe brought Photoshop to the iPad, it’s finally available for the iPhone. As of Tuesday, the company released the application, complete with an overhauled user interface designed for mobile interfaces, to the App Store.
In the new app, Users will also have access to familiar features like selections, layers, and masks. A helpful Tap Select tool makes it easy for users to replace, remove, or recolor parts of an image. The Spot Healing Brush makes an appearance as well, helping users to brush away distractions instantly. Users also have access to Adobe Firefly, which offers generative fill and generative expand tools. All of these features will be provided for free, though there are additional premium features available as part of a subscription.
Adobe Photoshop on iPhone’s features include:
- Access to Photoshop on the Web
- Expanded access to Firefly-powered tools including Generate Similar and Reference Image
- Access to more than 20,000 fonts
- Enhanced selection tools like Object Select and Magic wand
- Advanced removal and editing tools like Remove Tool, Clone Stamp, and Content-Aware fill
- Lighten and Darken tools, perfect for adjusting brightness without affecting hue or saturation
Photoshop for iPhone requires iOS 17 or later to install and run, and users who already pay for Photoshop through a Creative Cloud All-Apps bundle, or those who pay for a Photoshop-only or Photography app bundle will have access to premium features.
New users can also get access to Photoshop Mobile for $7.99 a month, or $69.99 annually. This covers both Photoshop on iPhone and Photoshop on iPad, as well as access to Photoshop on the web.
