Following up on yesterday’s story about possible shortages of Intel’s new Core mobile processors contributing to the delay in the new generations of MacBook Pro notebooks, a user, according to MacRumors, e-mailed Apple CEO Steve Jobs with the following message:
“I recognize the need for secrecy etc but I am really losing heart in the lack of vision for the MBP and Mac Pros. Not expecting a response but as someone who has personally switched dozens of people onto the mac way this is a sad email for me to compose.”
Jobs got back to the reader with a short reply that simply said “Not to worry.”
It’s anyone’s guess at this point.

Is this the new trend in proactive consumerism, sending a curt email to the CEO proclaiming your past loyalty & evangelism and hint that you won't be considering the Mac in future purchases? Ridiculous. If Apple were making new Mac boxes with every new chip people would be complaining that Apple has lost it's focus and is trying to flood the market with inferior & cheap Mac hardware. Does anybody else remember the '90s when every Mac desktop had at least 3 versions? On a more pertinent note, with Apple in a position to produce it's own chips Intel will be less eager to supply it's latest greatest to a company that is potential competition. So Apple will do what they always do, bide their time and get a solid plan in place, then stun everyone with unexpected news.
